Your Ideal Pocket Monster Tales: Z-A Mega Evolution According to the Astrological Sign
The comeback of Super Forms in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked immense excitement within the fandom. From the gradual reveal of fresh additions before the game's launch, to players forming firm views on the entire lineup of new Megas, there's plenty for enthusiasts to look forward to.
Given numerous of the Mega Evolutions showcasing distinctive designs that highlight their personalities, one idea came to mind: How can connect this with astrology? The following is inspired by a mix of intuition, sign stereotypes, and personal experience.
Aries – Mega Camerupt
To be truthful, Houndoom was almost chosen for this fire sign, as both are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that inspire the greatest apprehension. However, a Super Houndoom comes across as constantly angry, which doesn't match the Aries vibe, renowned for being playful, light-hearted, and impulsive. This makes the Ram far more akin to Super Camerupt, which solely erupts when provoked. Remain on the friendly side of either and benefit from a strong ally; if you cross them, be ready to get burned.
The Bull – Mega Heracross
Much like a loyal Taurus, the reliable Heracross species, whether in its standard and Super Form, has assisted numerous trainers in Legends: Z-A. While dependable, both the Pokémon and a Bull are still battle-oriented, and – whether it's their trainer or a firm belief – will stand up for their side unwaveringly. The thing about Super Heracross that reminds me most of my Taurus friends, though, is its unashamed love of treats. Many previous official descriptions note their fondness for tasty tree sap and how it employs its appendage to collect it all, which is true Bull-sign vibe.
Gemini – Mega Medicham
Look at this absolute queen. You cannot tell me this Pokémon is not the soul of any gathering, offering an endless fountain of chatter to anyone who wish to listen. Much like an captivating, gregarious Gemini, it's very simple to imagine Super Medicham captivating an entire open area with their stories. This Pokémon's official description also mentions its ability to predict an enemy’s future actions, which sounds very like a socially-savvy Twins.
The Crab – Mega Manectric
Cancer is commonly considered as the most emotional sign of the zodiac, a passionate sign famous for frequently becoming wrapped up in their emotions. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution charges the creature with a “huge quantity of electricity, but it's too much for this Pokémon to fully manage,” which sounds a lot like a typical Crab crash-out. It is also known for its capability to create a thundercloud over its very head – and if there’s one thing a Crab is likely to do, it’s spoil their good time.
The Lion – Super Starmie
Well, did you assume I was going to select Pyroar for the lion of the zodiac? Besides the fact that it would be far too obvious, The Lion is obviously Mega Starmie, the diva whose gams just went viral for being extremely fabulous (or horrifying, depending on your preference). Fans couldn’t look away from the violet sea star, and that’s exactly the identical energy a Leo brings to the scene. Starmie is also rumored to be broadcasting radio waves from its center out into the cosmos, and it’s typical of a Leo to be staging a show, albeit for extraterrestrials.
Virgo – Mega Victreebel
The ever-prepared and constantly-worried Virgo is ideally represented in Mega Victreebel, the Mega with perpetual digestive issues. The zodiac symbol known for being endearingly judgmental is strongly mirrored throughout this Pokémon’s entire lineage, from a perpetually surprised expression like a Virgo when you inform them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its inverted visage that’s similar to the emoji a Maiden posts to the chatroom when everyone says they want to “go with the flow” rather than making a plan.
The Scales – Super Audino
Look at this gentle, empathetic being, who uses the sensors on its auditory organs to tell how people are emotionally by their pulse. Always empathetic – occasionally to a fault – and trying to keep the peace, there are many Libras who would likely appreciate Super Audino's abilities. However, to be frank, it would probably just make them worry more about others.
The Scorpion – Super Banette
Banette is a Pokémon with a surprisingly sad origin: Abandoned as a doll, it gained sentient through sheer hatred and vowed retribution on its former owner. Per the official info, Super Evolution, “enhances its spitefulness.” That sounds exactly like many conversations I’ve had with my intense Scorpion acquaintances. A Scorpion adores cosmic justice and comeuppance, making them the ideal match with Super Banette.
The Archer – Mega Hawlucha
Each Super Hawlucha and Sagittarians are constantly putting on a performance. As a Archer myself, the amount of occasions I’ve called myself some variation of a “silly little entertainer” is countless. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Super Form, its description even notes how it “poses to show off its strength.” I would do the very same thing if I had a Mega evolved form, making Super Hawlucha the most apt Archer counterpart I can think of.
The Goat – Mega Absol
Were you aware that a Super Absol has the ability to predict calamities ahead of time? That exudes the exact same energy as a Goat, who tends to consistently think they’re correct. Interestingly, much like a prophetic Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the absolute first Mega Evolution that players meet in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Capricorn to join the ground floor of the Super Form craze.
The Water Bearer – Super Chandelure
Aloof air sign Water Bearer is arguably the non-fire placement that is most like a flame symbol – its counterpart is Leo, and there are countless memes about the Archer and Aquarius being unpredictable partners in crime. Mega Chandelure’s dual Ghost/Fire category fits seamlessly with this, and the Mega’s general daunting presence is also extremely Water Bearer. If you hadn't yet convinced, the Mega’s description says it “draws in hatred and transforms it into strength.” If that doesn’t perfectly {encaps
