Mohamed Salah Extends Regret to Teammates, Says Curtis Jones
Jones has shared that the Egyptian forward expressed regret to the team after the fallout from his public comments.

“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”
The head coach has refused to reveal on whether he was apologised to from the 33-year-old forward.

The player stated that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “He was the exact same Mo, he was smiling and we all treated him normally,” Jones added.
The midfielder also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “I understand there are specific approaches you can go about things,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just not start, then I think that’s concerning.”

The team's performance have been impressive in the matches since the interview fallout. Jones believes the forward's comments were never meant to harm the team.
“If passion has boiled over, the source has been from a good place,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, playing well and starting to win games.”
